How to Adopt a Puppy
Making a Reservation
NOTE- You must be 21 years of age to adopt a corgi from me and must be in a stable living situation. The type of building you live in does not matter much to me, but you need to be able to give the corgi stability and take care of all needs consistently. If I feel that this is not the case, I will end the process and wish you well with no hard feelings.
To reserve a puppy please contact me to make a 300.00 deposit to hold your place in line. This deposit will go toward the total adoption fee. If you have questions, it is best to contact me prior to making a deposit by text and/or ask for a phone call. You can also email me, but I don't check my emails as often as I check my texts and phone calls. I can answer questions about the breed, the puppy picking process, the parents, health guarantee, shots/worming, litters available/timing, and fees. We will accept a money order or cashiers check for 300.00 mailed to us via regular U.S. mail. The reservation is non-refundable, unless I back out of the adoption, or if there is a genetic health issue and the health guarantee is exercised.
Picking occurs in the order reservations/deposits were made. You will need to tell me your preference for gender and color once the deposit is made. When it comes to picking time, you can change your mind and pick the puppy you want even if it dos not match your original preference. Sometimes there are exceptions to this, but I will let you know if this happens- early on. I will also need your full mailing address for my records and backup method of contact. Puppies are picked (selected) in week 6 of age (in the order that the deposit was made), and are adopted/ picked up on the 8 week birthday. Picking can occur by picture/videos, facetime, or a visit to our home. You must pick up your puppy and pay the balance when the puppy reaches the 8 week anniversary of birth. If the puppy is not picked up by this date I reserve the right to have someone else adopt the puppy. If I feel that the puppy will not go to a good home I may end the adoption. If I am the one that backs out of the adoption I will return your deposit. If you make a deposit and do not wish to pick out a puppy for two consecutive litters, your place in line and deposit are forfeited (see below for more specific details- under "please note").
Visits to my home only happen during week 6. Restrooms are not available, especially during COVID. This is my home, not a breeding facility.
-Reservations do not guarantee a puppy in the current litter since we cannot always control how many are born or unforeseen circumstances. In this event, your reservation is forwarded to the next available litter. If your name comes up to pick a puppy and you pass on looking at the litter, you will have one more chance to look at a litter before you lose your place in line and your deposit. If you look at a litter through FaceTime or in person, and we don't have the gender or color you want, then your deposit and place in line will defer to the next litter until you get what you want unless I have reason to believe you are not serious or are unreasonable.
-Our puppies are not being sold for breeding dogs; but rather as family pets. If you wish to breed the puppy, please discuss with us to ask for an exception.
-I would rather not ship puppies. I am willing to meet you part of the way if you live a far away.
Overtime, fees may fluctuate to a small degree as my costs go up or down as I raise litters. Your price is locked in for 10 months after I receive the deposit. My prices have gone up by $100.00 every 18 months due to my increased costs (due to Covid inflation for instance), so you can see that my prices do not increase greatly over time. The average adoption fee in Central Minnesota for a Corgi adoption is between 1100 and 1600. Please call or text for more details.
